  • Charities Making Grants to Non-qualified Donees (Webinar)

  • Affidavit Swearing Service Legal Forms Workshop (In-Person)

    • What: AC Friends of Court is hosting its first legal forms workshop in the City of Surrey. There is a $0 affidavit swearing service. Bring your legal documents and ID. This is in person at Sources Community Resources Centre Newton location, Lobby 105 – 13771 72A Avenue Surrey BC V3W 9C6. This service is provided in English, Chinese, Punjabi, and Hindi.

  • Wills, Trusts & Estate Planning (Webinar)

  • RDSP Level 1 (Webinar)

    • What: Beginner RDSP workshop for those who want to learn what an RDSP is, who qualifies, how to apply for the Disability Tax Credit, and how to open an RDSP. This is best suited to people who want to learn the basics of RDSPs and get general information about the plan. No background knowledge needed to get the most out of this workshop.

  • RDSP Level 2 (Webinar)

    • What: This Advanced RDSP workshop is for those who already have a RDSP or have already taken Level 1 and would like to deepen their knowledge and learn how to maximize growth. This workshop includes more complicated financial information so attendees should already understand RDSP basics and review our glossary of terms before attending this workshop.

  • Getting Along with Your Ex (Webinar)

    • What: Breakups are hard. There are difficult issues to work through, like how to divide your property and debts, how any support arrangements will work, and (if you have children) your parenting arrangements. Learning how to communicate effectively will improve your chances of a good outcome and save you time, money and stress. This website helps refugee claimants in Canada learn about the refugee protection process. Topics include getting legal representation, starting a refugee claim, preparing for and attending a refugee hearing, what happens after a hearing, and making a refugee claim in detention.

Ministry of Attorney General

Northern Virtual Counter (Courthouse Services) (New)
Citizens and lawyers with questions that they normally would have to attend a Courthouse counter for, can now click the Teams link and have a virtual session with court staff to ask questions for both Civil and Criminal matters and for both Provincial and Supreme Court. Currently, it is just a pilot and only for the North region. Clients click on the link, and will get the “we’ve let the person know you’re waiting” message that comes up in Teams. Audio only (call in) option is available.

PLEO Artists’ Legal Outreach

Performing Artists Legal Clinic (New)

Seniors First BC

Seniors First BC: Legal Programs (New location)
In partnership with the Nanaimo Family Life Association (NFLA), Seniors First BC is hosting free Advance Planning Clinics for low-income seniors aged 55+ at the NFLA office at 1070 Townsite Road. Staff lawyers and volunteer legal professionals can help with drafting and executing Wills, Powers of Attorneys, and Representation Agreements by appointment.
