  • RDSP Information Session Level 1 (Webinar)

    • What: Beginner RDSP workshop for those who want to learn what an RDSP is, who qualifies, how to apply for the Disability Tax Credit, and how to open an RDSP. This is best suited to people who want to learn the basics of RDSPs and get general information about the plan. No background knowledge needed to get the most out of this workshop.

  • Legal Advocacy to End Discrimination Against Women with Disabilities (Webinar)
    by DAWN Canada, ARCH Disability Law Centre, LEAF
    • What: This webinar brings together representatives from DisAbled Women’s Network of Canada (DAWN Canada), ARCH Disability Law Centre, and Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) to discuss their ongoing legal advocacy regarding gender-based violence against women with disabilities. Presenters will share the various faces of gender-based violence for women and girls with disabilities and speak about efforts to include intersectional feminist lenses in legal advocacy addressing discrimination against women with disabilities.

  • Pro Bono Going Public 2021 (Online and Telephone)
    by Access Pro Bono
    • What: Volunteer lawyers will provide free legal advice by telephone or online in a 10-day province-wide advice-a-thon. Clients will be low-to-modest income British Columbians in need of urgent legal advice. All appointments will be pre-scheduled.
    • When: September 13-24, 2021 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

  • Working with Your Legal Aid Lawyer (updated)
    This fact sheet outlines client and lawyer roles and responsibilities, so each knows what to expect from the legal aid contract. It also explains what the lawyer’s time on the case includes, what the lawyer can’t do, change of lawyer requests, and where to find out about making a complaint.

OmbudService for Life & Health Insurance (OLHI)

  • Complaints resolution process for life and health insurance disputes (Newly added)
    OLHI helps with reviewing life, disability, extended health care & dental insurance, travel insurance, and insurance investment product complaints for consumers. The site tells you about the four-step complaints process and situations when they can’t help.
  • Search for life insurance policy of a deceased (Newly added)
    OLHI helps you search for a lost life insurance policy of a deceased. This site tells you how the search works before you can submit your request using their online form.
