The On-reserve Income Assistance program is a federal program that helps eligible on-reserve residents and Status Indians in Yukon to cover their daily living costs and access pre-employment supports.

Lists possible sentences when pleading guilty or found guilty. Explains in plain language what to say to a judge before they decide on a sentence. Learn how to prepare and where to get legal advice. Contains information about Gladue principles at sentencing for Indigenous peoples.

Queer Glossary: A to Q Terminology (3rd Edition) (Updated)
The guide helps community members, allies, and service providers to use language respectfully. The glossary includes terms such as AFAB/AMAB, FTM, femme, Gender Non-Conforming (GNC), intersex, pangender, QTIPOC, and Two-Spirit. The appendices describe gender/sexuality models and a pronouns chart.

Seniors First BC: Legal Programs (New Locations)
Seniors First BC provides services to older adults who are not able to access legal help elsewhere due to low income or other barriers. VCH Deaf Well-Being Program is a new location in Burnaby, open for two Thursdays a month.

  • How to Maintain Dignity While Ageing with Cerebral Palsy (Webinar)
    by Seniors First BC and CPABC
    • What: Join Seniors First and the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC for this discussion on maintaining dignity while living with Cerebral Palsy. The hosts will present Elder Abuse – What is it, How Do We Deal With it? during the session. You’ll learn about types of abuse and people involved; the correlation between social isolation and abuse of older adults; and strategies to deal with abuse.

  • Everyday Law Series: Some Urgent and Temporary Orders (In-person and Webinar)
    by AC Friends of Court
    • What: This one hour session focuses on some urgent and temporary orders. The hour between 5 to 6 will cover the orders. And attendees can ask general questions or get help booking their appointment from 6 to 6:30. In person is at the Chimo Community Services, 8000 Minoru BLVD #340, Richmond BC V6Y 3Z5. There is a zoom option as well. This session is in English and Mandarin.

  • RDSP Level 1 (Webinar)

  • Male Allyship and Sexual Harassment in the Workplace (Webinar)

    • What: What does it mean to be a male ally? How can male allyship and SHW prevention support each other? Using highly engaging activities from PLEAC’s Male Allies Training workshops, this Male Allyship in the Workplace workshop helps men learn how to be more engaged in allyship and helps folks of other genders learn how to identify and support male allyship in their communities.

  • Youth Leaders in Law (YLL) Law and Politics (Webinar)

    • What: As part of Access to Justice Week BC, participants will have the opportunity to hear from legal counsel across the country on various cases including the Emergencies Act, Language Rights, and R v. Sharma that all highlight the intersection of law & politics as well as engage in conversations with current law school students.
