by Nidus and West End Seniors Network- What: What are the essential legal documents in BC for those who want to plan for incapacity, end-of-life, and for after death? Learn how Personal Planning is different from Estate Planning. Find out how to make your documents and where to register them. A Nidus-trained volunteer will provide an overview of Representation Agreements, Enduring Powers of Attorney, and Wills. Held at Barclay Manor, 1447 Barclay St., Vancouver. Registration is required.

by Seniors First BC and New Horizons for Seniors (Cortes Island)- What: Seniors First BC for a Government Benefits presentation in partnership with New Horizons for Seniors (Cortes Island). A Seniors First BC legal advocate will present an overview of federal and provincial government benefits for seniors, including Old Age Security (OAS), Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS), Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters (SAFER), Rebate for Accessible Home Adaptations (RAHA), and more. No registration required.

- The Importance of Staying Connected (In-Person)
by Seniors First BC and Archway Community Services- What: Join Seniors First BC for a learning event on “The Importance of Staying Connected: Preventing Social Isolation and Loneliness” in partnership with Archway Community Services – Lunch with the Bunch program. This presentation introduces the importance of staying connected. It discusses issues of social isolation and loneliness including risk factors, the correlation between social isolation and decreased well-being, and how we can do our part to stay connected with loved ones in our lives.
